Stefanie creates award-winning, innovative jewelry designs inspired by miniature things. She crafts each individual delicate and beautifully filigreed treasure by hand using the traditional technique of bobbin lacemaking. She crafts them from ultra-thin steel or silver wires and hand-dyed polyamide threads which enable her to create flexible structures and voluminous shapes. In the process, a line becomes a surface, a surface becomes a three-dimensional piece. The lace technique provides transparency and lightness. The result of these ultra-fine materials and her great skill are beautifully filigreed treasures whose value cannot be defined by the materials but much rather by the amount of time required to handcraft each individual piece. Confus was awarded the German Design Award Special 2017. Stefanie lives in Lengenfeld / Vogtland and works in her own studio for contemporary bobbin lace jewelry. She regularly exhibits at national and international trade shows and exhibitions.
